The Arizona tree frog became Arizona's official state amphibian in August 1986. This small frog is usually green but can also be gold or bronze. A dark stripe runs from the frog's nose through the eyes and along its sides. Arizona tree frogs can be found in wet meadows and grassy areas of mountain forests. They can climb as high as 75 feet in some trees.
