Do
you ever put new samples up on your site? Occasionally I'll post a new published piece or two. Unfortunately, some unscrupulous Internet users think that just because artwork is online it is in the public domain and free for them to use as they like. This forces me to limit the amount of work I have online. However, it doesn't mean I don't have lots of illustration samples to show to prospective art buyers. Please contact me or my agent if you want to see more of my work. |

I've written a children's book, can you illustrate it for me?
Usually a writer submits their story to a publisher. If it's accepted for
publication the story illustrations are then assigned by an editor and/or
art director to an illustrator they feel most appropriately fits
the style of the writing. So, to answer the question: No. I only accept illustration assignments that come directly from a publishing house.

| Can you tell us more about yourself?
My professional art career started at a small daily newspaper where I worked as a graphic artist doing mainly layout and paste up. I moved on to other newspapers, but I was frustrated at these jobs because I wanted to illustrate and I rarely got a chance to do so. Eventually I quit and started freelancing full-time. I'm married to an elementary school educator and we have one child. We also have a very spoiled domesticated feline and a huge tortoise that mows the grass for us. (Really! Do you have a blog? No. I just don't have the time. (I'm too busy creating art.) I'm a freelance artist; between creating and promoting my artwork I don't have much spare time. Besides, I'm sure people would rather see my artwork than read some inane ramblings about my life. |
